Secure by Design for luxury estate build

Problem

A project management firm assigned to demolish and re-build a residential property for a high-net- worth client within their UK country estate was having difficulty identifying security designed products meeting the specifications of similar builds within their client’s European property portfolio.

The base-build drawings had not accounted for the additional measurements of security rated windows, doors and fixtures. Security systems installers had been appointed and delivered a security technology design package following a baseline installation but was not considered of the threats faced by the client and how the systems would be operated post installation. After a series of defaults, Toro were recommended to design the security aspects.

Response

Toro delivered a security design package to guide the project team to understand the threat environment, applicable UK security testing standards to enable product selection, and deliver appropriate security technology and services to defined operational requirements. Existing drawings and product specifications were examined, and a consultation brief delivered to disprove and agree the security design and products.

Outcome

The security design package was used by the project to re-design the security deliverables and ensure fit-for-purpose installations. Toro were engaged to further support the project on a draw-down basis to guide decision making and attest chosen products of the security design.
