Security risk framework supports estate management decision

Problem

A land ownership firm wanted to address a series of security incidents within one of their flagship estates incorporating over twenty corporate office buildings, retail, and outside event spaces.

An in-depth review of the estate and buildings physical security and contracted physical security guarding services was also required.

Response

Toro created a delivery model to assess security risk, technology and service capability and relevance to control risk. Our consultants then undertook anin-depth threat assessment and analysis of the estate to understand and measure the realisable threats and the effectiveness of the security controls. These standards and the outcomes of the  security assessments were then incorporated into a purposefully built automated assessment model incorporating a risk priority matrix to better guide the client’s management on the high risk/ high priority remediations.

Using this automated assessment, our consultants reviewed and assessed the level of security risk exposure to all buildings and the external estate.

Outcome

The client incorporated the security risk assessment data into automated digital dashboard to provide a real-time security risk, security performance and remediation reporting tool. The design of these security assessments allowed for digitalisation and has given the firm a regenerative and live security risk database for their portfolio. Being assessed to a set of security standards guided management decision making to action the priority risks and maintain an agreeable level of security performance in buildings and estate physical security design and operations.
